The next 6 months will see a lot of growth  in tiny.  I really want to get it to a point where it is no longer tiny in features, just tiny in footprint on your computer.  So what will be added in the next 6 months to tiny?

Tiny Reports

I will need to add a couple of extra reports.  Most specificially I want to add the ability for someone to search for incomplete timesheets.  I will need to add the ability to set how much time a user is expected to work each week as not everyone works a 4hour week like Timothy Ferris.

Another report that might be good, especially for companies that use freelancers, would be a profit and loss report for a specific person.  I can imagine that it might be useful to see how much the freelancers the freelancers suck up the profit you could be making.

Also graphs might be a nice addition, however, as long as people can get a hold of their information easily from the reports, they should be able to plug it in to any report systems they currently have.  So that leads to…

Downloads

Allowing any and all grids in tiny to be downloaded to a spreadsheet, so that the information can be imported to any other system available.

Invoices

I will need to bite the bullet and think of a tiny invoice system.  This can be so hit and miss as so many companies work so differently.  And sending out an invoice may need to be on official headed paper.  So how to build an invoice system that will allow you to have all the information laid out that will fit your invoice paper.  Or do I just say bugger off.  It’s my way or the highway?

Invoices will then lead to Work In Progress information and more financial tracking.  This can then be plugged into the Profit and Loss report to make it even more accurate…you have created £500 worth of invoices, £300 have been sent out, £200 is Work In Progress.  And of the £300 you know £250 of that has been paid.  Erm that’s a lot from a simple addition!

Stages

Splitting a job up into stages might be complicating things slightly, but as long as it is not compulsory to do, then it could be a useful addition for companies that farm out work to different people and need to control what stages different users work on.

Locking

This might need to be a top priority to be added.  When a office comes to end of the financial month, by locking out weeks or months so no new information can be added, will allow reports to be kept accurate over time.

Overtime

Currently tiny allows you to add overtime, but not specify that people can get paid overtime.  By adding this ability profit and loss reports will become even more accurate.

Emailing

Ability to send emails to people in your staff.  Forgotten passwords, missing timesheets, etc.

Erm am going to be busy!

If this all happens, or at least some of it, in the next 6 months, and the user base increases enough, then I may have to look at charging folks something to use tiny.  But how much is the question?
