It’s been a while since I last posted something on my blog. I have basically been putting in to practice some of the things I have preaching about. But I have also been spending time practicing my yoga. Yes, am a geek and I do yoga…I think that makes me geek chic! Or uber geek? Whatever it is, I am trying to get fit and healthy and this is the perfect time of year to try and do this.
But my yoga teacher up and left me for sunnier climes – she took the family to Thailand. Simone will be back, thankfully. But in the mean time I couldn’t find a yoga teacher I wanted to see. None of the websites I was looking at told me if the teacher was liked by their students. Doesn’t matter how fancy your website is, the fact is I can’t trust your website when it says “best in the area”.
Testimonials go some way in alleviating this, but I would rather have a resource where I didn’t have to trawl 40 websites of teachers in the area. And then I found this – iheartmyyogi.com. It’s a new website offering yoga teachers the ability to register for free. Students or even just people that know them, can come along and rate the teacher over a bunch of different properties, giving them the chance to “Like” them on Facebook. Well that’s the staple diet of websites these days isn’t it? But was cool was to see that my “Like” did a lot more than just tot up a number. The teachers that I liked now have a link inside Facebook e.g. if you search for one of the teachers, Helen Graham, inside Facebook, the search results contain a link to this website. Now that’s purdy cool! This seems to be part of the Open Graph API, allowing you to integrate your website much more closely with Facebook. Seriously can you say taking over the world?
It’s quite a nice website, but it doesn’t work in all browsers. I hope that they are doing the right thing and saying bugger you, to anyone that is using an out of date web browser. I am very much pro-upgrading. IE6 should fuck off and die. It needs a few wee extra features I think, but there is a lot of potential there! Why not check it out?

Great post, but I have a couple of favorites:
Made ya sound like you were from around here in the southern part of the US. Too funny.
1) “Now that’s purdy cool”
2) “IE6 should fuck off and die.” I’m still giggling at that one.
heheh! I tries.
