iheartmyyogi.com

It’s been a while since I last posted something on my blog.  I have basically been putting in to practice some of the things I have preaching about.  But I have also been spending time practicing my yoga.  Yes, am a geek and I do yoga…I think that makes me geek chic!  Or uber geek?  Whatever it is, I am trying to get fit and healthy and this is the perfect time of year to try and do this.

But my yoga teacher up and left me for sunnier climes – she took the family to Thailand.  Simone will be back, thankfully.  But in the mean time I couldn’t find a yoga teacher I wanted to see.  None of the websites I was looking at told me if the teacher was liked by their students.  Doesn’t matter how fancy your website is, the fact is I can’t trust your website when it says “best in the area”. Rate My Yoga Teacher

Lost in a yoga jungle

This weekend saw the launch of an idea I have been having for a week or so while now.  I have a great yoga teacher, but when she is unable to run a block of classes am kinda lost.  Where should I go?  Who should I speak to? ARGH!!  Ok it’s not that stressful, but it can be annoying, and I guess there are tonnes of people out there in similar boats from time to time.

So when a friend and colleague, said the same thing, I thought it was about time to do something.  When we were talking about the problem, we thought that maybe running a directory but one that was a rating site as well, would be a good idea.  That way, you can see a list of teachers in your area, and how others rate them.

So http://ratemyyogateacher.co.uk was born.  Now I have found a couple of other sites that do something similar, but they just don’t look appealing, or very easily useable.  So what will I bring to it.  Well am not sure yet.  It’s just new.  So go along to the site and register for the updates to the site.  I will let you know when it goes live…

I heart WordPress

Not in a gay way.  It’s software for god sake!  But man, it makes my life a bit easier.  Adding and moving stuff around your site is pretty shockingly easy!!  Nice.  Good work guys at WordPress.com, can’t wait for WordPress 3.0.  I might even give up on my own CMS engine, but that would mean learning PHP.  For an easier life, it might worth it?
